Mother's Day

Today was my first Mother's Day....we went to brunch at The Odyssey then had dinner with my mom, aunt, uncle and Holli and family up in Palmdale. We took tons of photos...here are some of the best:

Sofia's First Hockey Game

This past Thursday Sofia went to her first hockey game - to watch Daddy play! (and Auntie Anna and Uncle Jer or "GF" as he likes to call himself, as in Godfather) The Canadiens is Daddy's team and its the "Over 40" league which is funny because Daddy isn't over forty! They didn't win and Miss Sofi slept most of the time, but we did hang out for beer and pizza after!

Sofia is 5 weeks old today!

She seems to be holding strong at 11 1/2 pounds. It looks like we are going to have to move her up to size 2 diapers pretty soon - and we're not even out of the size 1's we got at our showers yet!

Sofi got a great outfit from another nice person at one of Nelson's stops...she looked adorable so of course I had to take some pics.

Today I had my postpartum check-up with the doctor and everything is great and I'm basically back to normal. (I do have to go back for a glucose test in a couple weeks to make sure that my gestational diabetes didn't turn into regular diabetes - I was fine when they checked me in the hospital but they want to be really sure) I've been cleared for all activites including the hot tub - woo hoo! This is good and bad, because now I have no excuse to start working out...wait I do have an excuse...I have a newborn :)

I finally figured out how to get pictures from my cell phone to my computer. Here is one I took a few days ago. I have this saved as my wallpaper on my phone because its just so cute!
This is the second "Smiley" pic I've captured, but in truth she is not really smiling as a reaction to anything, in both cases she was kind of smiling in her sleep and kind of opened her eyes when I took the pictures. I am hoping that soon she will be smiling in reaction to us! :) I've heard that typically happens around 6 weeks old.
I have noticed just today and that she is starting to make noises that are different from her normal cries, grunts and squeaks. I think she is starting to try out her voice.
How fun that every day or so there is a new "first"!

2 Outings Today!

Today we went on two outings...first we had lunch with Leah, Baby Alexis, Josh, Dave, Maggie and Cian at Islands in Porter Ranch.

Then I met my friend Alexis and her baby Riley for coffee in the early afternoon.

Sofia was such a good girl and slept the whole time during both excursions.
