Happy Halloween!

We had a wonderful Halloween! The girls dressed up for their daycare costume party/parade as Snow White & Minnie Mouse. Then for Trick or Treating Sofia was Ariel the Little Mermaid, and Gabby was a butterfly (we did dress Gabby up in her other 2 costumes just for the photo opp - Monkey and Witch -- will post the collages and baby photo compare with Sofia when we get them form Costco) Sofia has a blast trick or treating with her sister and cousin Claudia. Then she loved handing out candy - she was literally standing at our door yelling "come on everyone I got candy!" and she gave out handfuls at a time. She looked so cute in her red wig and crown! She did her cheesy smile all night long - hard to get a real smile out of her! Patty & Dustin stopped by to say hi. We all ate too much candy but luckily we got rid of most of it so it's out of the house. Fun day had by all.

What a Fun Weekend!

Besides pumpkin carving, we had a lot of other fun this weekend! Sofia went to gymnastics (and ironically sat down and read on the trampoline instead of jumping), we went to Sasha's party and Sofia enjoyed cupcakes with Lexie, wore her new Vader shirt to match Daddy, and tried on her Beatles dress that we got as a gift when she was a baby that finally fits. We also had a fun early birthday dinner for Nelson at Benihana with our friend Stu. Loving the quality of our new cell phone cameras - all of the below are from cell phones!

Pumpkin Carving

We had a fun time this afternoon carving our pumpkin. We carved the big one and Sofia picked the shapes for the eyes and nose, and said she wanted it to have teeth (2 buck teeth like Mater from Cars) and ears. Then we drew the same face onto her little baby pumpkins. Gabby watched for a while, but wasn't terribly impressed. When we lit up the pumpkin, Sofia blew out the candle and said "happy birthday!" oops :)

Daycare Pics - End of Summer/Early Fall 2011

Lots of birthdays - Abigail's, Caitlin's, Zach's and Jaelyn's -- plus a cute pic of her and Nathan (Samantha's little brother just started daycare!) and running around in the sprinklers. Plus Gabby's first daycare pics!

Gabby at 8 1/2 months

Gabby is such a sweet and mellow baby. Still a great sleeper, she almost never wakes up at night. Last night she did, and it was the first time in months. She didn't even wake up when she was sick a couple weeks ago. She is starting to "talk" - ie ma ma ma da da da. She still isn't much of a mover, occasionally rolls over, only likes to sit for a few minutes at a time before she knocks over. She is reachy and grabby and puts everything in her mouth. She will stand assisted if you help her. Even on her tummy wont pull up to all fours. She doesn't even like to hold her bottle herself though last night I made her (see pic) and she did great. I joke that she is "lazy" - she just has no interest in going anywhere. She still has no teeth and no signs of any breaking through soon. She just started eating protein - chicken, turkey, beef and yogurt. She is a good eater. She is very happy almost all of the time. She is still on 2 naps a day with a bonus power nap if we can get it in (around 6pm for 30 min). She loves her sister and she is always checking her out, and when Sofia tries to make her laugh she loves it. She's an angel!

Sofia's First Mani Pedi

Sofia napped while I went to get my nails done, I got Halloween themed toes - orange with black spiders and white webs. I showed her when she woke up and she wanted them on her toes! Luckily my nail stylist was free and did a quick pedi and then purple fingernails with flowers too. She was a very good girl and sat pretty still. She was so proud of her pretty fingers and toes!
