Construction Update - end of week #7

We spent the first half of the week slowly making progress on the painting, but it was painful. That room is just so big that after 5 days of painting (a few hours each day) we had only primed the new room and painted the ceiling and closets. So we called our contractor and he sent his paint guys out on Thursday to help us knock some of it out. They got a lot done! Some things are best left to the professionals :) The best news is all of the painting inside our new room is done! It looks really great.

Our blue/tan combo walls

The hallway and baby's room were primed, so we still need to paint the hall which we'll do this weekend.

We've picked out paint for Gabriella's room and we have 3 months to get her room painted and ready for her :) We need a break!

Stucco was finished on Monday and exterior paint will be done next week. Comparing bids now.

Color matches pretty good even without paint!

By Wednesday we'll be done with the contractor - Flooring (carpet & hardwood patching in hallway) and finishing touches (electrical, AC vents, hallway trim). But we did have our final city inspection and we passed! We are official in the eyes of LA County!

So with any luck by next weekend, we'll be able to move into our new room! Just in time for Nelson's birthday. We just have to buy a mattress for our new bed frame. We're going to look for one this weekend and hope to have it delivered next Saturday. We've already purchased our new bedframe and side tables so they are in the garage ready to be assembled.

We have to install the closet shelving systems and paint the closet doors ourselves, but we'll do that after we move into the room.
