Today I met a co-worker Michelle for lunch (she's also on maternity leave) and got to meet her sweet little 12 week old girl Kelsey. (Also got to get my sushi fix at Kaizuka!)
We happened to meet up at Sony, so I was able to stop in and say hi to some of my other co-workers. Tracey, Jenn and Karri had met Sofia already, but today she also got to meet Aileen, Gina, Heather M, Holly and Deb, along with many others we happened to run into.
Unfortunately I didn't take any pics :( But hopefully we'll visit again soon and get some!

Bath time - with no crying!
Sofia actually seemed to enjoy her bath today (for the first time), she didn't even cry once! I think she liked the warm water.
Sofi is 3 weeks old today!
Here she is wearing a dress that my wonderful Grandma Eve bought for her just before she died. I know she would have loved Sofi and Sofi would have adored her as I did.

Our Lil Strawberry Shortcake
Sofia had on the cutest outfit today (a gift from one of the people that Nelson makes deliveries to on his route) - a little strawberry romper - that I couldn't resist taking lots of pics. Here are a few of the best:
Two Milestones
Yesterday marked two little milestones for Sofi:
1) First night she slept in her crib. It went really well - she only woke up two times during the night and went back down relatively quickly.
2) Nelson gave her her first bottle (of pumped breastmilk) - doc said since she's eating so well it would be fine to introduce one bottle a day to get her used to both, so when I go back to work she will transition more easily to bottles all day. Here's a pic of Daddy feeding his girl:

Sofia's "Fan Club"
We have been lucky enough to get a lot of visitors - family & friends - here are some pics of Sofi's newest "fans" :) I wish I had gotten pics with everyone, but I'm missing a few so forgive me. If you have photos of yourself with Sofi, please send to me so I have a copy! (and any pics you took of her too!)

Nelson Sr Goes Home to Chile
Tomorrow Nelson's Dad is returning to Chile - he has been here since Sofia was born and was at the hospital for her birth, and has visited several times since we've been home. He stopped by today with Abuelita (101 years strong!) to see Sofia before he goes. He does an awesome job at calming her when she is fussy - he sings to her and rocks her and she loves it. We're bummed that he likely won't return for another visit until next April.
Safe travels Nelson/Dad!
On a positive note, Nelson's mom is supposed to be coming from Chile tomorrow and will get to meet Sofia for the first time.

Give me lots of love & Hugs
I don't know why she's so mad -- I'm giving her tons of love and hugs!! :) Kisses too!
Sleep is tough to come by
Sofia has been sleeping in her bassinet at the foot of our bed. Problem is my little muffin just makes too many noises when she sleeps - we wake up at every little grunt. So we've decided to start to try to get her to go down in her crib. Today she spent some time napping in her crib to get used to it. I think she likes it (knock on wood)!

Sofia's 2 week Dr. appt
Yesterday was Sofia's 2 week doctor's visit. She is now 9 lbs 15.6 oz (that's 10 lbs people!) and 21 inches. She has gained 1 1/2 lbs and 1 1/2 inches in just two weeks! The doctor said she is doing really well. She doesn't have another appointment until June 2nd (her two month).
We are still working on getting her on some kind of a sleep schedule. Nelson went back to work today so he's hurting a bit. But the good news is its 9pm and I've just put her down in her bassinet. (This is the earliest we've gotten her to go to bed so far - by 2 hours!)
Some of the cute things she's done lately - when we put in her pacifier sometimes she grabs our hands (the hand holding the pacifier) and basically forces us to hold her pacifier in for us. It's so cute. She does the best cat stretch ever and makes funny faces while doing it. Also today she actually folded her hands together (kind of like praying pose). I may be biased but I think she's quite talented! We've started giving her a little bit of "tummy time" each day - and she does a really good job of holding up her head already (for a good 30 seconds at a time, not just bobbling). In short - she's already amazing!! :)
Since we've already posted a bunch of pics on facebook, I probably won't duplicate a lot of the same photos here on our blog. You can check out the facebook pics at:

Our First Official Blog Entry
Hello Everyone,
We decided to start this blog to share our stories - now that Baby Sofia is here, our lives just got a lot busier...and better! She is now almost 2 weeks old, we've managed to get a bit of sleep (OK so we're not zombies any more, that's a start) Here are a few picutres of her right after she was born. I will post more pics soon!
Some of the things we already adore about her: her funny faces while she sleeps (smiles, pouts, makes an "o" with her mouth), the way she snuggles when she is really tired but fighting sleep, her little noises (especially the grunt) - even when she is crying, she is still so beautiful!
